My Story

Totally masc, bro. (This was a funny little test shot for portraits in Golden Gate Park's "Doughboy Meadow")

I consider myself first and foremost a "creative," turning the photography and video production company I founded at age 16 into an internationally recognized and awarded photography and design business. Working professionally in politics since 2006, I crafted some of the most successful digital campaigns of the last decade.

In 2010, I served as the Creative Director for the RGA where I built the first in-house creative agency in a national political committee. In this role, I led the overall creative, advertising and digital earned media campaigns in 37 states, helping 29 of our candidates achieve victory as part of the RGA's $100,000,000+ independent expenditure campaign. Coming out of the RGA in 2010, I founded Influential, a start-up branding and digital agency that combined winning campaign strategy with the creative solutions of brand marketing to help candidates, businesses and organizations connect with constituents and customers. After a great run, Influential closed its doors in December 2015 so I could focus more on my photography and design work in San Francisco.

I abide by a simple philosophy I call "do good work." It means more than just trying to do my best, it means translating my Catholic upbringing into a service-focused mission to help others. This work continues with my "Anonymous Invisible" project.

In recognition for my work to lift the design standards of political campaigns, Campaign & Elections Magazine named me a "Rising Star." The DCGOP also named a "35 Under 35." Never one to avoid a productive and constructive discussion, I was asked to speak at the Sunlight Foundation's Transparency Camp, and I led a discussion on the path of the political donation to the ads seen on television.

In addition to my design and political work, my photographs have been exhibited in art galleries around the world, in magazines like Vogue and Seventeen, and I am blessed to be a sought-after editorial and portrait photographer.

A native Washingtonian, I have called New York, Washington DC, London, Mykonos and Dubai home. I now live in San Francisco. In addition to being creative in the digital space, my skills in the kitchen just as creative. My Cuban chicken, hush puppies, and other delicacies are sought-after by friends and family.

Fun Facts: If I could have any five cars in my garage they would be:

  1. 1995 McLaren F1
  2. 1964 Mercedes-Benz 230SL
  3. 2016 Mercedes-Benz AMG S63 Coupe
  4. 1994 Jeep Wrangler Renegade
  5. 2014 Ferrari 458 Spyder
