Because I never like to dwell on the negative aspects of things, I'll keep this short and sweet. In March of 2012 I was diagnosed with a non-malignant type of brain tumor called a germinoma. Needless to say, it's been a sometimes scary journey. But, I wouldn't have made it through feeling stronger and happier were it not for my close friends and family who have been an amazing support to me over the last year and a half. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I've completed my course of treatment and feel better than ever. But the bigger news is that I've recently quit smoking cigarettes. (I know, it's about flippin' time.) To ensure the best chance of permanent success, I have almost completely cut out drinking, I've started a new mostly-vegetarian diet, and I'm back running and working out. I've lost ten pounds just in the last ten days, and I can't wait to see the results.
Bottom line is that I'm thankful to those people who have been true and kind friends, I'm thankful to God for every day and every breath, and I'm on a mission now to be the best person I can be, living life to the fullest.
